Man, I don't know about you, but this CBI stuff is balls to the wall action. Not only have the games been great, but the crowds have been amazing. I really think the $60k minimum guarantee from each each school is not biting a single program in the ass.

Here's some attendance snippets from the linked article:

Night One

Ohio - 1,169 (won)

Old Dominion - 2,036 (won)

Virginia - 4,022 (won)

Nevada - 4,252 (lost)

And I went ahead and looked up the attendance last night, which seems to have improved a little:

Bradley - 5,114 (won)

Tulsa - 5,365 (won)

Washington - 3,227 (lost)

UTEP - (N/A) (lost)

So there is an outside chance Bradley and Tulsa broke even if they charged over $10 per ticket and everyone else who hosted likely lost money. And hey - I bet everyone will love the travel costs at the end if you get a best of three match up between Old Dominion and Utah.

How is this a gold mine if every home team lost money?

Maybe some charged more than $10.

Qouner was being sarcastic.

Houston apparently only accepted if they could be on the road. They probably didn't spend a whole lot on air fare and got a postseason win.

Great post - very funny.

Wonder how Cincy did in their game - they were definately worth a spot in a post season tourney!

Bradley beat them.

The MVC has done great in both the CBI and NIT so far(I believe undefeated at 4-0). That doesn't bode well for WKU against Drake.

I guess it should be no shocker that they lost, considering how many game they lost during the regular season.
