Even though the seeding wouldn't bear it out I think WKU has the better chance to pull off an upset. Drake is perimeter oriented team, much like TSU only better at it, so they could fall victim to the "live by the 3, die by the 3" curse. Additionally I think WKU is just plain a better team that South Alabama...though their two match-ups would say otherwise. I think South Alabama may just have a team makeup that gives the toppers fits.

---I was at NT during the MVC (Missouri Valley) era and Drake was a conference member. The MVC has been under-rated regularly since the 70's breakup with Louisville, Memphis, NT, and Cincinnati leaving. I hated to see this matchup... I am pro Sunbelt with still some feelings for the old MVC teams. Bradley, and Wichita State has done well for the MVC lately with a lot of upsets in NCAA play. I thought Drake deserved to be rated higher. I am thinking S. Alabama has the better chance to win..... and picked them.

Drake and Butler are pretty evenly matched opponents. Although, Drake did beat Butler recently on Butler's home court.

I actually think WKU is playing better ball than S Alabama right now and probably has the best shot for an upset. The Drake/WKU game should be a dandy.

It's a shame that WKU and SA had to draw Drake and Bulter. I would have rather seen them play Clemson, Michigan St, Miami (fla), West Virg or any of the major programs seeded at 5 and 7.

      Women vs. South Florida (1/12/25)

      Get your rears to The Pit tomorrow! The ladies have a difficult opponent to face coming off their failed comeback in New Orleans the other night. South Florida is 11-6 but tied for a league-best 4-0 in AAC play. They were picked to win the conference last year but we beat them in our one meeting in Tampa.       24/25 MBB Attendance Tracker

      How do we know that is happening with an Admin person or staff? No wins and losses to judge by. As fans we have limited knowledge of goals and accomplishments for the AD as a whole... as far as meeting Master Plan timelines, marketing, donations, season ticket sales, business renewals and additions, etc. We judge by fan engagement and communication or mess ups in ticketing, events, etc.

      First Responder Bowl TV Numbers

      I know we're all sick of moral victories, but this is probably the best news UNT Athletics has had when it's come to TV ratings before, and the team represented us well. Plus, Mestemaker's performance has overshadowed TXST's win.

      ECU (1/14/25)

      Should be a win. But we haven't exactly been road warriors this season, and after our six spectator programs combined for just one loss against ECU last school year, ECU is off to a 4-0 start against us in 2024-25. Plus considering last year's sweep, and what happened at the end of the game in Greenville last year, all the makings of a perfect trap game.

      24/25 MBB Attendance Tracker

      Yeah I would love to see more UNT grads in the athletic department but there aren't enough students that take pride in their Mean Green sports, and many who don't even care about the name of the school on their degree. As long as they are working their tails off and making progress, I am fine with being a stepping stone for a little bit. As long as there are plans in place and efforts being made to sustain and build off their progress once someone leaves.
