1PM When Alumni Giving Attacks!: Coming Soon to Fox TV

Student on phone: Sir, as a current student at XYZ College*, I know I can talk to you about all the improvements that we've made since you attended.... Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. No... No, I didn't realize you hated XYZ. I will be sure to tell him that... Repeat after you? Sir, please... I promise I'll tell him... Okay, sir, I'll tell him that you said that everyone at this school can fuck themselves and suck your 70-year-old balls... Thank you. You have a good night, too, sir.

That is EXACTLY the types of experiences you can expect if you ever work a phone a thon for the university. Which is why we need to stop farting in the wind trying to bring the past alumni back, and work on the future alumni. Continueing to do so without helping current students build ties to the university is a complete, assinine waste of time.

---You are saying what I have been saying.... get students interested and to the games (especially basketball) .... and proud of their university. It should be easier to improve future attendence and interest by Keying on "present students" than those who attended years ago.... but don't completely ignor those people either.

One of the odd but good things NT does (at least to me) is that I get a birthday card every year from them... It makes you feel like you are at least connected to NT somewhat and not completely forgotten. ... I realize it is a quiet reminder to contribute but at least it is not so obvious. Meanwhile "Tech" (my wife is an alum) doesn't do this, in fact nothing similiar.
