What will be the most noticable difference between this years 4-3 and last years, other than a difference in personnel? I'm certain our DB's cover 1 position will be greatly improved, playing head up instead of an inward slant. More stunting on the interior possibly, changing up coverages better and utilising the safety more inside?

In simple terms, here's my expectation/analogy of this year's defense versus last year's.

It's like being a boxer. Last year we were a counter-puncher but often out of position to connect with the counter-punch. This year's team will stand in the opponent's face and punch them in the mouth. I can't wait to see the difference and didn't realize how much I had enjoyed watching our defense until it came up missing last year.

Last year not having a dependable defense put way too much pressure on the offense... This year SHOULD be a complete reversal or let's hope so. Even with Dodge Ball in place and running on at least 7 cylinders - we still can't expect the O to score 40-60 points per game. With an improved defense we shoudn't need to!

What's sad is that we had the talent to have a good defense. I can't state how happy I am that Deloach is back home. Imagining a resurrection of the 01'/02' defensive performances with a team running last year's offensive with one more year of experience has me pretty excited about the 08' season.

It just makes my head spin to think how differently last season could have been, had we had the Defensive leadership that the Offence had. There were too many close calls and too many that just slipped through our fingers. I too am relieved that Deloach is back. Hopefully we will see an immediate improvement -- even against our OOC opponents.

Very true. In the DD days it seemed as though in each class there would be alot of recruits that were very questionable recruits. Those who would never even get a whiff of the field. But it seems that with TD's first 2 classes that he is getting a solid all around class. Quality players at every position. What this does is to help provide depth, quality depth at that.

I actually didn't see the pics or pull them. So credit/hate should go to another admin.

I will say, however, that many people read this forum at work, and as such all images posted should be work appropriate.

And by work appropriate, I mean think of the poor schmuck sitting in a corporate office, not the guy who trims your hedges and has centerfolds hanging in his combination van/office/home.
