This also hopefully prevents any portal entries from our guys. A quick, solid hire allows him to jump into recruiting transfers and our own players. Heck it may even help keep some players on the offense as well.- 1

Considering another 6-6 season probably gets Morris canned, this hire really surprises me. The defense HAS to get turned around next year. I figured we'd hire someone with more experience and skins on the wall. This guy might be a genius, but does he have the pull to put together a good staff, and recruiting experience to sign quality players? This is the hire I would have expected when Morris was first brought on. Shocked its the route he's taking after his first hire completely blew up in his face.- 1

I like this hire. Will it work out? No idea. But there’s connections, possible players transferring in with him, and a fresh young mind who has them ranked high in defense. If you’re not an SEC or Big ten school it seems hard to have a good defense at FBS schools in general.
