Wow. I like the open concourse design. An impressive stadium. I like how both Minnesota teams (Gophers and Vikings) are going to open air stadiums. Their opponents are going to dread being scheduled in October/November/December

$288 million for that stadium in Minnesota.

Just a hypothetical number to throw out there if UNT approved an athletic fee:

$20/hour * 12 hours * 34,000 students * 2 semesters = $16,320,000

$20/hour * 6 hours * 10,000 students = $1,200,000 (average summer numbers)

Grand total = $17,520,000/year

And that's just a drop in the bucket of what's needed, as the budgets of "Big Time" schools are several times that amount. UT's budget in 2005 was $82 million. But a student fee will get us going in the right direction. I just wish some of the UNT administrators had the stones to say it's needed rather than begging the students for the bare minimum.

This is why any athletic fee of significance must come from the students, not the administration. We need the student body to demand a better program for the good of the University.
