These stories just continue to crack me up...

Instead of laughing at a guy who refuses to give up a dream, as improbable as the dream might be, maybe you could appreciate his grit and determination. That's what Coach Jones has done with Sturns, according to the article. JJ, who presumably knows him a little better than anyone on the board, is supportive of him. Of course, I realize that there are those who find it more fun to mock others.

Sturns turnovers dribbling killed his point-guard chances at UNT. He is a quality forward, but not so much at point guard.

Forward? I've always agreed that Sturns would be much better off not playing at the point, but at his size and with his skills I wouldn't look for him at forward. I also wouldn't completely rule out his chances on the next level. The NBA will be a difficult row to hoe for him, but you cannot teach the athleticism and speed that he possesses. I wish him the best of luck and hope that he can get his game under control well enough to find success. Quite a few guys with lesser skills have found a way to acheive that dream and you just never know.

At 6'-5" he could play small forward in college, NBA = no.

No...I'm gonna continue to have fun at Michael Sturns expense. JJ would be supportive of my efforts to get to the NBA as well. I've known Sturns since H.S....and based on that I think I'll stick with the players analysys who felt he should just go ahead and forget about the NBA and maybe take a practical look at his life. He'll be able to find a place in Europe (which given the opportunity, I would take over the NBA in a heartbeat) and maybe even be successful there...but he doesnt have the shot, handle, athleticism or most importantly the head to be an NBA player. If his former H.S. teammate Keith Langford, who was a star for 4 years at Kansas, has managed only a couple of 10 day contracts and has a work ethic that would make Sturns look like Oliver Miller...I'm sorry but Sturns wouldn't make it through an NBA training camp.

He's 6'4"-6'5" and he has difficulty dunking...find me another NBA player with a similar build with similar "athleticism"

Sounds like the sentiments of a failed athlete. Sour grapes?

I think you can objectively say Sturns lacks an NBA game at the moment, and he might agree. But what's the point of spitting all over the kid's dream? It's his, not yours. Quit being a tool, unless once upon a time the guy seriously wronged you.

The "althleticism" I was referring to was mainly his obvious quickness, but I sure wasn't aware that Sturns can barely dunk. Also, I could probably name a few 6'4" guys in the NBA that have trouble dunking, but it might get into politically incorrect territory. :o I also think that most of the talk involving Sturns is based on him making a nice paycheck on the next level rather than exclusively in the NBA.
