Why would anyone want to put a stadium in the downtown area of a city? Doesn't St. Pete have a town of bits with a wax museum and a water park where they could build the stadium with the view of a major highway rather than an attractive marina?

I think this is stadium is greatness...and even if Tampa Bay will never be able to contend in the A.L. East, there would actually be some appeal to going to a game. The writer made a great point...I'd love to see a game at every major league stadium (I'm at 6 so far, hitting up Wrigley this summer)...but as it stands there is NO reason to go to Florida

Yeah I was think it would be a great place to see a Yankee game.

Do get the feeling you would hear Styx's Come Sail Away at every game?

Man, this looks really cool...to me anyway

SUMG, I did not know you were from the future.

One thing I like about that stadium design is the shade........ I don't know about you gents, but pratically every Rangers game I've been to I have sweated... profusely. Shade is good.

CBL...

I have a list of 25 to 30 places I want to see a sporting event in, or places that sporting events have been played (i.e. the Coliseum), I will be knocking two or three out this summer and I am pretty sure you will be there for two of them right? Fenway and Yankee Stadium (in whole red sox garb).... right?

As long as you're not up when I'm in Chicago at Wrigley.

As for Yankee Stadium in full Sox gear...is Barnett coming with us...and maybe former special forces marine Rich Young? I went last year when I was dating a Yankee fan (I could never really fight through the tattoo on her hip) and I went sporting a Sox hat...and it was daunting....but this wasn't when they were playing Boston so it was kind of a middle finger to their fans. If we get tickets when the Sox are in NY then full garb is a given...otherwise its just asking for an ass kicking
