Way to go Ladies! Nice win...keep up the good job...I think the season has a real shot at being one of the best in a very long time...great to see wins over the Big XII...even if I do have a degree from Oklahoma State too! GO MEAN GREEN!

One of the best seasons "in a very long time"? I think this is only our 4th or 5th season...ever.

Anyway, I'll excuse you. That thought probably came from the part of your brain that got the Okie State education.

This will be Softball's fifth year...... hopefully the fifth time is a charm and the program will have their first winning season.

OSU finished 3-16 in conference last year and last in the Big 12, but hopefully this win will take away some of the frustrations of losing a double header to Sam Houston State last weekend.

4-5 years IS a VERY long time when it comes to a winning softball program at UNT! :unsure: UNT is definitely on the "up-swing" when it comes to athletics...way to go ladies...keep it going! :clapping:

Not so good this morning, Sam Houston St. 1 North Texas 0..........Sam Houston St. must have our number, they have now beaten us three straight this year.

Hopefully we can play better against Temple.

SHSU has a good softball program. Beat the Cajuns at the regional last year.

BTW, have your ladies played at LaTech yet? I haven't seen any info on either site.

      PAC is back

      Just as I like to use "North Texas" as our name and never "UNT". But there are hundreds of teams with Eagles as a mascot. Mean Green is unique and ours alone (marketing opportunity). .......................... As for the PAC and revenue I found this article that mentions the PAC-2 gained $50 mil from the Rose Bowl this year and will get another $50 mil next year... "However, to add a bit more salt to Oregon's wound, a couple of former conference foes are receiving a big payday from the Rose Bowl.       I wouldn't necessarily say that we won't play UNT again in football. SMU has played UNT a ton throughout its history. Far more than any other regional schools in the P4. That said, I doubt we will ever play in Denton again.

      Nice Article: Maintaining Success

      Hodge was a Juco HC before joining UNT as an assistant. He brought in the defensive game planning and was used to having to recruit and re-roster the majority of his teams each year. It's always been like that at Juco level and is similar now at D1 level with players leaving for NIL and more playing time. But some older coaches were used to developing their own players for 4-5 years. Similar to FBS football, some coaches are having trouble adapting to the new era of recruiting a new roster each season. If Ross keeps us winning and gaining hardware we he will attract poachers for his services at a bigger program, like McCasland did.
