Folks,

the tone, attitude and language of this board has been getting worse and worse, and it's time to clean it up.

I want civil discussions on here, and people who can not follow those rules are going to be recieving tempory bans at first and permanent bans for repeat offenses.

General Rules:

* While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.

* Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

* Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.

* Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.

* We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.

* We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules.

* Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

* You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal.

* Do not argue with the Admins about proper use and policy.

Any threads/posts of these types will be deleted.

Advertising Services

* We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products or services. Explicit advertising in sigs is also prohibited.

Unless it is toward the players

When I was living in the dorms in college, we used to always get the maximum number of write-ups we could get without having to see the hall director. We would tape them up around our doors as a badge of honor.

This board is reminding me of those days. Juvenile, yet fun.

PHS's avatar tells it all.

Leave the players alone.

Including the players, the HAIR name calling and such has got out of hand.

Not entirely true. I believe the last people who I recall made personal attacks against players (the exact phrase was something along the lines of "grow a pair"), were given several days off. While players are naturally subject to more criticism because of their profile, there is a difference between criticizing their play on the field and being personally insulting.

As it should be.

We've passed the maximum threshold.

Also, I'd hope we, as alumni and fans, could represent the university a little better than a bunch of pants-on-head-crazy first time away from home freshman.

Good point. Just because we don't put people in virtual stocks to be ridiculed by others doesn't mean there isn't disciplinary action going on.

Yes, we don't want to stifle discussion, but personal attacks need to stop.

Acceptable: I am afraid his inability to drop back into coverage is going to leave us in bad shape for the rest of the year.

Not Acceptable: HE SUCKS! WHY DID WE WASTE A SCHOLARSHIP ON HIM!!!!1

And odds on Tasty being the first to go? :P

We walk the line fairly well because we bribe the admins with delicious Cadbury eggs and hugs.

---I know I am old (64) but I have never really understood really crude or obscene language....especially the bedroom and bathroom terms. It seems worse when written or posted. I know junior high kids do it because they "think" it makes them look or sound more adult-like but at the age most of us are on this board... I really don't get it. It usually makes people look less educated, less mature, and more insecure. ...and no, I am far from a Bible-thumper...I am not above using damn or hell for emphasis. I just think we should display some class and respect each other. It seems that a college degree would somewhat separate us from the population as a whole.

All of us may need/want to behave age 12 at times -- [ Six-Flags for example ] but posting crude language here this isn't one of them.

I couldn't agree more!
