Sbc Play 2/13/08

You won't believe this, but FIU beat ULAR 57-45 last night. In another game, WKU beat up Troy 92-57. It seems that teams we need to lose in the West keep losing each week. We could have easily taken over the conference in February with a few more wins. It is it long shot, but a chance to to win the West still presents itself, though we will need some help - namely more loses by Denver, ULL, UNO, and ULAR. And it just so happens that we play Denver, UNO, and ULL again.... Denver is tonight, ULL on the 28th, and UNO on March 1.... of course we can't lose any of our remaining 6 SBC games.... Not a great chance of all this happening, but Sunbelt Conference play is always crazy so expect the unexpected.

I forgot to mention that Ark State plays UNO at home and ULL plays ULM at home tonight.... Hopefully, the Ark State and ULM can hand these teams loses and further our rise to top of the SBC West starting tonight after we beat Denver!

Current standings.

Denver 7-5 11-12

Arkansas-Little Rock 7-6 15-9

Louisiana-Lafayette 6-6 10-13

New Orleans 5-7 15-9

North Texas 5-7 14-9

Arkansas State 4-9 9-15

Louisiana-Monroe 3-9 9-15

Should we win tonight we'd still in essence be 2 games back of UALR since they have the head to head matchup. Other than that fly in the ointment - we have games against everyone in front of us.

Should an interesting, albeit crazy, end to the West conference regular season!
