Since J-MO is gone, the hot new jersey in the stores should be #87. Second will be #11. (Riley's number)

No more hand made #87 jersey's this season. It will be fitting for all the younger kids of the community to jump on the feel good story of last season and wear Casey's number.

I wonder if TD will let the school print up his son's number without playing a down?

Why would there be a jersey for a guy who has yet to take a college snap? Jerseys are sold on reputation and Riley's story has yet to be written.

Last summer, the number 2 best selling NFL jersey was Brady Quinn. Adrian Peterson was in the top 10. Neither had taken an NFL snap.

People will buy things based on expectation. Not saying it completely translates into this scenario, but it is an example of how people spend money.

Agree wholeheartedly with you drex, but I know we're all still quite happy to have a Parade All American HS QB checking into one of our Mean Green Village dorms this August! B)

Wouldn't it be something if Riley grew just 1/4'th the inches in height & pounds as NT Athletic Hall of Famer (and former NFL All Pro great) Cedric Hardman did? I really do hope that Riley RS's this Fall & gets that shoulder healed 100%.

You guys that got to watch the Mean Joe Greene Era of Mean Green football in Denton I still envy very much. :P

GMG!

The difference, of course, is that Quinn and Peterson were Heisman finalists in college and first round NFL draft picks. So, comparing an undersized athlete who may or may not ever take a snap at QB in a Division I game to those two is like comparing apples to oranges. But, go ahead. People here like comparing apples to oranges. It's the seed from whence the "we can be like Boise State/Hawaii/South Florida, etc." threads bloom.

Well I understand your point. I was simply trying to assert that people will spend based on expectation and potential. And I was using facts to back it up. I know that I have been warned about that, but I am stubborn.

Ok a better example might be how donations and ticket sales at UNT went up with the hiring of Dodge, despite the fact he had never won a single game as a college head coach. Why? Expectations.
