Now I'm confused; I have been thinking of Todd Dodge as Moses. Is he really Noah? I guess he did give his "family" atmosphere some credibility by recruiting students for his first class in twos from different high schools.

No beard, dude...

Ok... seriously... this is the most disjointed thread in this' board's history. We need a "threads of fame" and this should be at the top of the list...

no - this is the most disjointed thread standing.... a lot of good work over the long summer months is now rotting in message board hell

I like the Foo Fighters, but give me a thread comparing conference affiliation to Noah and the flood anytime. This means that all of you are failing to heed the warnings of God's chosen profit and I guess the punishment is...well.......we'll have to find out together.

One thing is clear though, TTG is a filthy, unwashed sinner with no soul.

That works so well.

Sad but true this is just the beginning. The off season really started less than a week ago we're in for a rough next few months.

What course did you expect the thread to take with nearly successive posts by nautique, Daddydumpsalot, and Dodge2007. This thread had jumped the shark long before UNTPlaymaker has even had a chance to contribute his own words of wisdom, but then again, even Schemp never appeared with all of the other three.

My inability to spell improved something. Perhaps I've been too hard on everyone.

We all need Coach Todd Dodge & his staff to succeed and we also need our UNT upper echelon leaders to build a football stadium that will be befitting of the future 2'nd Largest University in the Lone Star State. Can't we all agree no matter what era we attended UNT that all this (and a bag of chips) would be a good thing for our alma mater?

Who's disagreeing with this? I can think of maybe 1.5 people who would argue for Dodge to go, and I think one of them is a borderline late night binge drink and postaholic.

gonna have to disagree with you... the Foo Fighters are one of the best rock bands out there right now.

Which is an indication of where rock music is right now...not good. Grohl a god? Of what?

The best thing to happen to modern rock was a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head of Grohl's former bandmate.

Foo rocks!

It means rock music has come a long way from the days of CCR and AC/DC, when every song on a band's album sounded exactly the same.

You're right!

We could refer to the time when "Seattle Grung" was the way of the rock world and all the bands sounded the same. The lead singer usually sounded like he was trying to drop a painful load ala Pearl Jam, Creed, Nirvana, etc...

Many don't know this, but REO Speedwagon is MeanGreenSig's all-time favorite.

If you haven't seen them live I don't expect you to understand (and I'm not talking about a 3 minute award show blip). The guy is a talented musician. He plays several instruments, sings, writes, etc. I respect people that do their own thing. I'm not really interested in getting into a generational argument over the history of rock music versus the new stuff- we all have different perspectives and opinions. I like a lot of old rock bands, but I don't enjoy listening to the same music over and over.

Oh, I respect his musicianship and I also prefer folks who write their own material, I just don't think the Foo Fighters will go down as one of the great rock bands, that's all.

Hey, to each his own. I can respect your opinion.

Okay, let's take this thread in a different direction...

Someone please explain the attraction to Amy Winehouse?

I am a fan of the Fighters Foo but I think Grohl lost the "rock god" claim when Weezer out rocked them at the last Dallas show. Seriously, if Rivers Cuomo is bringing more angst to the table than you, you need to step it up.

Also, the last living "rock god" is Jimmy Pursey.

That is all.

I was not interested in that chick as The Nanny, I disliked her as Janice on Friends, and I hate her act pretending to be the singing heroin hag.

LOL!!!! That's some funny Shhhhhhh.

Sabbath, Priest, The Who, Hendrix, Santana, Van Halen, The Stones, AC/DC, Journey, Foreigner, Frampton, Berry, Clapton, The Eagles, Boston, The Beattles, Zepplin, Motley Crux, InLivingColor, Perkins, Diddley, Kiss, DeepPurple, FogHat, Eric Johnson, The Beach Boys, Joe Satriani, SRVaughn, Almond Brothers, Skynyrd,......and all in between the era's from the 60's to early 90's....etc all sound alike.

"The Colour and the Shape" in my opinion is where the Foo Fighters peaked. That album still holds up against anything coming out today.

Good rock music does still exist today; it's just not the stuff you hear on the radio.

I was actually think less "crackish", more "faces of meth":

What lessons can we learn from this?

1) Kids, say no to drugs

2) Say yes to a sammich once in while.

Is this suppose to be the after and before Amy? If so, did she lose that tatoo on her right forearm after going on a diet, or did they move it to another place?

They are before and after, but the "before" is on the right. It's what she looked like around 2003 or 2004 and her first album. That was before she not only became an addict, but then married one as well. He is in some combination of jail/rehab right now. (One story reads jail, another reads rehab.)
