By the way, I, too, hope they can use the reliefs. They aren't just pictures, they are history of the university. For example, one of them pictures the twin brothers who were outstanding track athletes. Who remembers their names and were they Olympians?

Yeah Ive thought about that too. Even if they didnt get used on the stadium itself, they could be used on a wall at a plaza or something.

bump...who were those twin track stars? Elmer and Delmer _____ ?

Brown.

An odd stat is that at one time North Texas had two sets of twins, Delmer and Elmer Brown and Blaine and Wayne Rideout, set a world record in the sprint medley relay at the Penn Relays.

It was the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden before a crowd of 16,000.

Something similar to this type of preservation is occurring right now with the destruction of Masters Hall and the construction of the new life science complex. The relief design on the north gable of Masters was removed and will be incorporated into some area of the new complex.

The Masters reliefs were made of individual blocks, so were fairly easy to remove. Aren't the Fouts reliefs cast pieces, or are they segmented? That will probably have a lot to do with the ability and cost of removing them.

I still dont like the idea of having a lot of end zone seats. Those are the ones that are always shown on TV and the ones the players see while marching down field. I do like having the endzone seats covered with something like "Mean Green". That way they will be covered up and if we ever get to a point where we are selling out our stadium we can simply remove the cover and use those seats.

Is this the model in the office ?

Where did you find that '61?

Very interesting. I like the finished exterior. Note what looks like an upper deck above a suite-level and under the pressbox. The stadium overall looks a little Smutish, yet better!

If I'm not mistaken, weren't those the drawings up in RV's box at Fouts? Love the concept. It's like Ford Stadium, and the back of the home side looks like OU. Love it. Practical. Seats close to field. Football offices in the end zone....this would be outstanding!

Forget that I like this model better than any other design I've seen so far but HKS does some great work I want to see what they can go with. I'm glad the process is starting to move along now lets raise some money.

Yes, I agree, more like Amon Carter stadium at tcu...end zone seats are seats of last resort.

Let it go it's only one side we are planing on a horseshoe which mean end zone seats on one side. Not that I don't understand the hatred of sitting in end zone seats at Fouts they are so far away you can't see. Oh wait like most of you I've never really sat in the end zone because it really is a choice since we only fill half the stadium. Now when we do get the new stadium I'm betting they move the students toward the end zone and I could be wrong but I'm thinking the end zone seats might be a little cheaper. So if you don't like end zone seat DON'T SIT IN THEM.
