WKU is playing like the class of the SBC, Coutney Lee is a special player and could very well go to the next level. It is amazing how different things were tonight while Lee was on the bench. WKU is traditionally a strong program, but it's good to see we are not that far behind the Hilltoppers. Not shocked at all with what happened tonight, however it is great to see JJ's bunch not give up and fight it out until the end.

I just hope they fall in the SB Tourney before we run into them....We simply need to worry about what happens in the West and then go from there. Good things ahead as we hopefully "March" through February....(Rock-Me).....

We're gonna have to play either USA or WKU in the semifinals at the latest unless someone knock'm off. I like our shot at WKU better(even though they're arguably the better team IMHO). USA is hosting. They also know WKU is their toughest competition....and their fans would thus root really hard for us to beat WKU if we met in the semis. We might have something like a homecourt advantage.

Just got back from the game: WKU is really good. I thought they were better than S Bama. Other than Texas...WKU is probably the best team we've played.

Did they say if anything was wrong with Keith Wooden? He seemed so sluggish tonight--as if he was sick.

No, they just said he looked sluggish. They weren't sure if it was his ankles or if he was just winded because he hasn't been able to condition much.

Another thought after watching tonight's loss....we may only go as far as Wooden's sore ankles will take us. I hate to say that, but after watching him struggle for the past month, that seems to be a huge factor in the slight decline with the team's overall play (losing Dez doesn't help either). I don't like excuses in sports and I know that JJ doesn't either, but there is a noticeable difference. I know it might be really unpopular, but maybe JJ should sit Keith a few games, or drastically cuts back his mins. against a few of the weaker SB teams coming up.....Just a thought.

I too saw a sluggish keith wooden. About 5 minutes into the game it was obvious we couldn't grab a rebound. As soon as I started watching him individually, didn't really see wooden jump for anything. He was probably a little hobbled.

WKU is a VERY good defensive team. They moved very well as a team, and challenged early on the perimeter. Our ball movement wasn't great on a few possessions. Really hope that improves and get more consistent.

We looked lost on more than a few of their possessions. I was really disappointed with how we ended the half with that inbounds pass. I know things like that happen, but it really was a key point in the game and I know that the players must have felt awful. We really didn't play horrible. Josh White had a great game. We just looked very young out there tonight. WKY was the better team...tonight.

I also noticed that wku drove the ball to the basket more we did. I can't wait to see what happens in a few years when we start calling more offensive plays for tt. that guy seems to be the only one that can get inside on a consistent basis. Also, I like that kid magley(sp?) on wku. He is a beast. the program listed him as 6'9 265. You think knox will have a hard time moving him in years tro come?

It looked like the team was worn out the last 10 minutes. Hands on knees everytime WKU was fixing to shoot a FT. WKU seemed to be able to out pace us, especially when getting back on defense. Can't remember how many times our guys had their backs to them as they drove to the paint and scored. Positive, we never let them get more than 9pts ahead (until the last few mintues) so at least we kept it winnable. Seemed like a decent turnout, 3200 sounds about right. Either way, my boys enjoyed the game!

anyone else think the ref's sucked? i know we in the pit crew thought they called an awful game!

How long have you been going to the games?

You'd be very hard-pressed to find more inconsistant officiating anywhere in college basketball outside of the Sun Belt. Its something that you sort of have to learn to deal with and have confidence that the karmic world eventually balances everthing out. Steve Welmer, who did not call last night, is really the only SBC official worth a damn
