MTSU posts first signing day shocker

Part of the fun of national signing day is that there are always a few surprises in the days leading up to that magical Wednesday and occasionally a couple on signing day itself.

Seeing UNT add a pair of big offensive linemen late was a pleasant surprise.

I took a look around the Sun Belt Conference recruiting lists this morning and it appears as if Middle Tennessee also made a key late addition. Anthony Jones, a four-star wide receiver who is rated No. 39 on Rivals.com's list of the top junior college players in the country, has committed to MTSU. Jones played at Northeast Mississippi Community College last season.

This is the fourth or fifth time they've won the recruiting crown. How many out-right titles do they have? I'll save you some time, Zero.

Without a doubt this is true...and I wouldn't trade our class for theirs...but eventually recruiting success does spill over into on field success. We all have to admit they are improving.

Yes, and Stockstill appears to be a much better coach than that pajama wearing Andy Mac.
