Does anyone know if Patrick Cortez has left Sporting News Radio. He was really good...and always promoting the Mean Green. I could not find him on the roster tonight. I have not heard him the last couple of weeks...and he was alsways on either giving the sports updates or weekend and fill-in shows.

Hope all is alright. He also comes to the site regularly, so if so Patrick, please let us know.

Thanks,

Rick Herold

I sent him a PM over a week ago, and have heard nothing which is very odd. I listened again this past weekend, and heard nothing of him, which is very odd. Hope all is well with him. He is not listed here on this list:

For a little good news Patrick's account was active last night, so there probably is life, I still hope all is well.

Looking at the latest host lineup...it looks like there has been a bit of a shakeup at SNR. Latest lineup looks like the "Sports Blowhard Hall of Fame".

Really hope all is well with Patrick...

He never responded to me on here - which is really odd.

Hello All,

First let me state to Todd and others I apologize for not responding to the PMs. You guys know me and that's not really like me. Anyway, I do have some bad news to report. A few weeks ago SNR told me that they are shuffling station resources and that they were letting me go. It was a bitter pill to swallow considering just 10 days prior to that my boss told me how I was his most valuable host and that my show was looking good. At the time he most likely knew he was letting me go. Anyway SNR is now moving from a 24/7 model to syndication. The network will only originate like 3 or 4 shows and syndicate the rest. The situation has now cost at least 4 people their jobs and it will be many more before it's over. BTW, it also led to Tony Bruno leaving the network. Bruno was the cash cow for SNR. Things aren't looking good for SNR.

So now it's on to the next phase of my life. I'll be brutally honest, this has made me reconsider my chosen profession. I new have a wife to worry about and I don't want this to happen again when we start having kids. I was moved out to LA and then let go less than a year later!!! So I'm thinking about a career change, but who knows. As for now I have my agent beating down the west coast while I look for gigs in Texas and Chicago. I have a couple of things brewing including one that might get me home so that maybe I can catch NT games for the first time in like 5 years!!

I will tell you though, this board has been good for me over the last few weeks while dealing with this. I got lost in all of the recruiting news. I also appreciate all of you guys and gals that have contacted me. Doing the show, I was always happiest when a fellow NT alum would contact me. We are a big family!!

In the meantime I will be checking out the board almost daily and I'll keep you guys posted on where I land next.

Dear Patrick,

As a veteran of that business years ago....I know how it works. They changed formats...and all the news and sports folks were let go.... I will say that your enthusiasm on the Air, even after your ungodly shifts was unbelieveable! You know sports, were friendly to callers, and made SPN exciting to listening to.

I remember tons of nights listening to you...but, one of my favs was when you had Willie Mays live after Barry Bonds broke the record. It was fun to listen to you...as you could tell how importatn that was to you.

Anyway, "tough times don't last, but tough people too". Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.

Respectfully,

Rick Herold

Patrick - good to hear from you and glad you are still alive. I figured you would get back to posting when you got a chance unless of course something had happened to you.

Let any of us know if we can do anything for you.

Todd
