Just for the life of me...I can't see where this changes a thing for the lowly Rangers. What a pitiful excuse for a major league team! They couldn't beat a good college team on a reguklar basis...maybe not even a good HS team! What a waste they have been the last oh so many years...not worth half the price of admission.

Nolan Ryan is a class act...he is good for the team from a business and PR standpoint, but, I ask you, will he be able to bring some decent pitching to town? Many have tried and failed....I wish him luck...the game of baseball is super boring as it is...let's hope Nolan can work his knowledge of the game into bringing a decent product to Arlington.....if anyone can...he can. Good luck Mr. Ryan...I am happy you are a Ranger once again.

Surely you jest... Even the Tampa Bay Devil Rays can kick any college teams butt. The levels of play ar so different that it wouldn't even be a fair fight. Nolan Ryan is bringing credibility, trustworthiness and the kind of work ethic that will get things done around here. The man is a legend in baseball for a reason... he knows what he's doing. I'm not sure you can translate hiring Ryan into an amount of wins on the field just yet, but he will begin to put winning peices into place. Baseball has got to be the greatest sport on earth. I really wish UNT had a baseball team...

Woody...I agree with your comments on Nolan and his credibility, etc. BUT...YOU HAVE TO BE EITHER SMOKING SOMETHING OR DRINKING WAY MORE THAN YOU SHOULD when you make a comment like "baseball has to be the greatest sport on earth". Man....sooooooo far off! BORING is how you actually spell baseball at the pro level...I enjoy a bit of HS and college baseball, but the pros are so very boring that it hurts.

Where have you been in all the discussions on this board about baseball at UNT? Some of your baseball "buddies" here would love to have you plugging away for baseball at UNT. I would guess that baseball would be the next sport added here at UNT...if one on the men's side is added...Thanks again to Title IX...oh, that's right, it was not meant to do away with any men's programs....and, if you believe that one......well, you might if you think baseball is the greatest sport on earth!

I know...let's get the baseball at UNT thing going again ojn this board...that's always good for a few "hot sports opinions"....

It's ok...baseball is a thinkin'/talkin' sport...and KRAM is just too much of an idiot to appreciate it.

Is Nolan bringing the snow monkeys with him to the office everyday?

I hope so. I'll have to start listening online to see.

Boring was US vs. Mexico playing soccer for 90 minutes, plus 3 1/2 added time, to a 2-2 tie.

Nice Jay Dub...didn't your mother tell you that if you can't say something nice then to keep your mouth shut? Since when does "not being a baseball fan" make one an idiot???? You obviously did not learn that part of the "growing up" thing...but, maybe you haven't grown up...can you not appreciate a little tongue in the cheek humor????

Looks like Quoner got the humor....Lifer that 90 min. 2-2 tie would have been 14-14 in football with overtime going until a win.....so looks like US and Mexico played to a 14-14 draw...wow...lots of scoring...28 points!!!!!! You obviously did not watch the game...I'll bet JayDub didn't either. Yea, baseball is a tinking/talking sport...you are right about that JayDub...since it certainly IS NOT an action sport! B) I see a few big time US businessmen buying soccer teams in Europe these days, but I haven't seen a European buying any baseball teams lately...not that it really has anything to do with it....

I'll keep up the "baseball shots" every chance I get because it certainly brings out the best in folks like JayDub! Please do get a little more creative in your name calling in the future...it will be much more enlightening! And, don't worry spring training is just around the corner...you can take lots of naps and wake up without missing any action after 30 minutes!

I watched quite a bit of it, and other than the crowd, it was boring. BTW, a 14-14 tie in football with nobodyscoring in OT is a waste of 3 hours too.

Ummm, KRAM...do you really want to talk about growing up? Re-read this post and think about that statement.

I don't need to be creative in my name calling because I'm just stating what I see. An idiot. And, in the case of this post, someone who makes a total ass of himself.

Jaydub is just mad because he doesn't get this genius humor like I do.
