A little disappointed that Weathers did not get the DB award, if it had not been for #38 things would have been even worse (if that is possible. I wish Aaron the best, I know him personally and I know he is working out, getting ready for the next level. I feel he has a legitament shot to make a name for himself. I believe, he is disappointed about the postseason recognition but he is using it as motivation. Such a shame his senior year was under Mendoza! Best of luck Aaron make UNT proud!

Weathers should have been the special teams player of the year, at a minimum.

Aaron won the DB award in '05 and '06 by leading the entire team in total tackles so it's not like he's gone without his share of recognition at NT. And even though he led all DB's this year in tackles, he finished 4th this season overall though that doesn't take away his contributions at all. Bush on the otherhand had 22 fewer tackles but he had more pass break-ups(2 more) and accounted for one more interception than Weathers. Not great numbers of course, but considering AW won it the two previous years I can see where the coaches were looking at possibly giving someone else a chance this year? I suspect AW will get his shot at the next level for sure as he's certainly deserving.
