I don't understand the Texas team. Why are they called the Texas team? Do the members have to play for a Texas based college, or do they have to be native Texans (regardless of their college affiliation) to be a member of the Texas team?

10/23/07 - Texas vs. The Nation organizers announced that former Alabama and Texas A&M head football coach Gene Stallings will lead Team Texas in the 2nd annual Texas vs. the Nation all-star bowl. The game, which pits top collegiate seniors from Texas against top seniors from around the nation, will be held at Sun Bowl Stadium Saturday, February 2, 2008.

Still doesn't make any sense. For instance, Damon Hickson from MTSU is on the Texas Team, but he is from Florida and played ball in Tennessee.

I believe the team is open to anyone who either played highschool or college ball in Texas.

from ESPN website:

Teams will consist of seniors ranked in the top 15 at their positions by the NFL.

The Texas squad will feature seniors with high school or collegiate ties to the state. The "nation" roster will be filled with players with no Texas ties.
