By now just about everyone who follows UNT athletics has heard that senior center Keith Wooden spent the night in jail after being arrested on warrants for outstanding traffic tickets.

For those of you scoring at home UNT has now: Lost two straight, had half its team come down with the flu, had its best player Josh White cracked in the head and suffer a concussion during a game, had Wooden sprain both his ankles in the span of just a few days and now he ends up in jail for a night.

Other than that, every thing is going great.

I am starting to wonder if UNT used up all its good karma on its way to the NCAA Tournament last season.

On a more serious note, I have to give Wooden credit for what he did today after he was released from jail. He was at practice -- and like all journalists covering a story -- I had to ask if he would comment on what happened. In most instances, players and coaches don't comment. And most of the time they are not very happy about being asked to talk in the first place.

Wooden had a chance to avoid talking to me or anyone else, but instead he told his coach and athletic department officials that he wanted to comment. He walked right up and admitted his mistake and said he hopes to move forward.

I am not excusing what Wooden did. What I am saying is that I respect the way he took responsibility for his actions. Not a lot of people in the public eye have the guts to stand up and admit they were wrong, especially not right away.

Wooden made a mistake, but he has the right attitude about how to move forward. That in of itself is a step in the right direction.

Feel free to post your thoughts. Do you think UNT can bounce back from a tough series of injuries and other assorted mishaps?

Because the admins are going a bit overboard.

I didn't see the other thread, I have no idea why it was locked down. But I do know we consider it inappropriate to argue on the board with the decision of an admin. If you feel an inappropriate action was taken, PM them. If you don't know who took the action, PM me and I'll look into it.

Don't complain about it on the board.

Do not argue with the Admins about proper use and policy.

I just want to clarify, it's perfectly OK to argue with the opinion of an admin, such as "who is the best QB UNT has ever had" or "should the student athletic fee be increased". It is not ok to argue the ruling of an admin over whether or not something is appropriate/inappropriate.

I'm not arguing with the decision to delete the thread, I only asked why. I have seen threads deleted in the past that didn't seem to break the rules and I'm left hanging as to the why. As you can see, opinions such as UNTFlyer are easy to come by when no explanation is given. This line of commentary would have been completely avoided had one been given.

Tempa-ban me if you like for "arguing" the reason for deleting the thread, but at least afford me (and others on this board) a public explanation of why so others may learn from the mistake I made.

The first time I got banned by the admin who shall not be named...I asked why there was no explanation for locked down and removed threads. Never once was I given an answer.

Thank you to JohnDenver for actually taking the time to explain the reasons when he locks one down.

It's because you can't make a right turn in downtown Murfreesboro.

Actually I have no idea, wasn't me, in this case... but I can ask.

However, still, if you want an explanation. Email the admin. If you have no idea who did it, email me.

Listen to me Justin... Anonymous does not forgive.

Is there an email addy that you can send to that will get to all the moderators? Something like admin@gomeangreen.com or mods@gomeangreen.com?

No, I misspoke, I meant PM. Just send a Personal Message via the board.

May I throw this in the suggestion box? I'm not sure what solutions gmg.com's web host provides, but mine gives me the option to route an email address to whatever address I want.

There has to be a statute of limitations on how long this can be held over my head. This happened in like, what 2002 or 2003 (I forget)?

Bah!
