I find it really interesting that rivals lists him as a 4.9 (two star). I don't think we've ever had one before, have we? If DD were coach, any unknown recruits would just be given a 5.0 (one star) or so I thought.

Rivals doesn't have a 1 star rating.

From Rivals:

2005: 11 out of 24 rated 4.9 (highest player rated at 5.3)

2006: 6 out of 18 rated at 4.9 (highest player rated at 5.4)

Do you really "land" a player like this, or does he just chose to play at your school when you are the lone D1 school offering a scholarship? Actually, from reading this, it appears we are the only one's that even offered a scholarship period.

Seems harsh to knock a guy who just committed to North Texas. Every non-BCS school has to take chances on guys who were overlooked. Keep in mind that if this kid keeps growing at the present rate, by his junior year he'll be 7 feet tall and 450 pounds.

At some point, kids born after you died will go into college... at least, thats the stoic way to look at it.

Well if they graduate from UNT they will have to be on your lawn in order to mow it. Don't you know that is what we all end up doing!

They do have 1-stars on scout but thats only for players who haven't been graded. On rivals ungraded players are blank 0-stars then 2-stars is the minimum. I know rivals added the whole 5.whatever ranking in 2004 before that they may have had 1-stars I'm really not sure how it worked before that.
