I've read that one a few times; talk about OT postings and thread hijackings! Seems that "farmerfan" is our main defender. However, he never defends the beauty of UNT women compared to those of SMU and TCU. Is he trying to keep them to himself; stealth lurking perhaps?

I gotta think that Dodge comes up short in that battle. JJ has the college/pro pedigree. Briles has the college success and is luring you to a BCS school. Dodge is a good coach, but let's face it...till now, his success has been in high school.
I'll say it again. I think the real battle to watch is going to be between June Jones and Patterson at TCU.

Firebird's hilighted text is the strongest argument against us. Having suffered through the mire of DD-philopsophy made me certainly appreaciate this year offensively and TD as a man. As one who prefers winning, however, I didn't have a great feeling. This year's recruiting will certainly be not as good as it could have been had UNT gone > .500. We are were we are, and last year has given all who watched closely a glimpse that the magic TD build in hs can and will transfer over to NCAA Bowl Division.

I believe in the Mean Green.

I believe in TD's Philosophy.

We will win and soon.

Sadly I agree with Firebird. It is almost as if NT isn't even in the running. I too think that JJ at SMU will now encourage the rivalry between TCU and SMU again. I also think that it will hurt TCU's recruiting as well. If we can consistently win against SMU that will show something.

I can't believe how easily some of you give in to SMU and the Jones hiring. Look at his entire coaching career. It's not that impressive and considering how lenient Hawaii's admission standards were, he may have trouble getting his type of athlete to SMUt. Have a little faith in your alma mater.

Let me put it this way, Jones isn't going to recruit the questionable characters to SMUt that he did to Hawaii. If he does, couple that with donors coughing up big $$$ for his contract and the NCAA will be watching like a hawk.
