His nickname is "Pounder". He likes to pound the ball inside so he's not speedy like Dunbar. He was a Star-Telegram Area Top 50; one of six running backs (Dunbar was also).

He is also called Pounder because he works at McDonalds. (Quarter-Pounder).

Mathis carried Martin to a 7-0 start before he got hurt. He wasn't 100% when he came back, and Martin's wheels shot off without his production. I don't think he'll be a big-time back, but he can be a pretty good contributor in a backup role.
