UT sources say McDuff not a candidate at for UNT job

It's always tough to tell where the truth lies when it comes to situations like this, but I did some checking around with friends who have sources close to the Texas football program and from what they can tell Larry Mac Duff is not a candidate to become the new defensive coordinator at UNT.

There have been rumors flying that the former Texas co-defensive coordinator is a candidate to replace Ron Mendoza, who was fired by head coach Todd Dodge after UNT finished last nationally in scoring defense with an average of 45.1 points allowed per game last season.

Dodge interviewed candidates at the American Football Coaches Association convention this week. UNT should have a new coordinator in a few days, but from what I can tell, it won't be Mac Duff.

There is no truth to the rumor that Butch LaCroix has left the UNT coaching staff.

HAHA.... good one Rick. Emmitt and I are going to write thank you messages on our MGC donation this year, and mine will read something like this....

"Here is my 2008 contribution to the Mean Green Club. You will notice the amount is much higher than last years? No, it is not a typo. Our offense was phenominal and made us all very proud! As we will thankfully have a new Defensive Coordinator this year, and thus need 30 less points per game to win?, I am donating the weekly money I would have spent sending CLUES to the DC's office. I believe our new guy will have one.....Thank you".

I really want DeLoach back. When they announce his hire, they can run a highlight vid of the sacks, INTs, safeties and big hits his "Green Curtain" made....just in case some of those in attendance aren't familiar with his work.
