Actually, lots of places have a sort of "All Things BS" area, usually labeled "Off Topic". When we were doing our mini-publication of like 40 rotating artists, we had one that DID cover politics, cars, toys, women, movies, you name it. A few of us had gotten to know each other really well over the years and went there regularly, and the couple hundred other guys who were mostly fans of a couple of the contributors didn't bother...

Just showing that people who don't want to talk off-topic won't go there, but the community you create might enjoy the banter with one another without having to go somewhere else, especially if they feel about this board like some of us felt about the other board-some of us know each other in person, but we all pretty much remember each other on here and can recognize each other.

2 of the contributors to that other board were the co-creator of 30 Days of Night and the current Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics...does that give me celebrity sponsorship? :P

The difference being, that GoMeanGreen.com *is* (without desire or intention) a representation of everything UNT. The AD staff reads it, newspaper writers read it, casual fans read it, recruits read it, etc etc. We can't control what is read.. we can only control what *type* of content is on the site. So, do we want casual people to think we are uneducated, foul mouthed, fluffy kitten joke loving, Baylorfans.com-style people? I certainly don't want us confused.

So, all you folks that want to talk about those topics (pr0n, video games, politics, gun, etc), open a website. Put it in your signature. Have every cross member put it in this sig. Hell, make a dynamic script that shows active conversations for your site in the (GMG) signature (so it has people clicking on it). All of that is acceptable.

Maybe.

hahaha.

Well, certainly it can't be a *real* pr0n posts. But a "Last 10 posts made by me on PoliticalRehashedConversation.com: <li>I love Trolls. <li>I love Primaries. <li>"

That wouldn't hurt.
