I met with Brian Bethea yesterday and worked out the dates. This is the Sunday after the spring game, so it is probably the best date we can get. (we can play the game anytime that day..early or late) Post your general opinions here about that date (works or not) and I will give Brian the go ahead. He has been really great to work with and said he will do whatever he can to avoid the fiasco that was last year. Also everyone should know that Brian is getting married this summer (July 19th), so we should all give him some huge congrats!!!! Of all the people I've worked with over these past few years in the athletic dept., Brian has always been the most cooperative and helpful.

So, speak up and give me the okay if the date works for you... I really want to play this game at Fouts this year. We already have a backup date, but it would push the game into early May. Let's try to get everyone on board for April 13th. Check your calendars and post what you think.

Just curious, has the date for the spring game been definitely set? I would appreciate knowing the date. Thanks.

This is great I finally will have the chance to play (if date stands). Last Two years I have had flag tourny's the same weekend as the GMG Bowl.

What's the deadline for rigging the draft or bringing in ringers to take all the fun out of it?

What's wrong with sticking it to the man?

So far it looks like the 13th works for everyone? I'll go ahead and confim that with Brian today. This date will be set IN STONE. Brian and I looked at the big board in the Ath. Office and there is nothing to bump us out this year.

Now for the Ringer-rule...

Article 124 of the GMG.com Bowl regulations... "the roster addition of a former scholarship football player is allowed if an additional former scholarship football player is added to the opposing roster. Both players must be on and off of the field at the same time. Also in effect is the "Blount" rule. Any former scholarship player scoring four or more touchdowns in one game may be ejected for showing up a bunch of beer-drinking, non-scholarship, athletically-average players. This rule was enacted to prevent game blow-outs, and may also be referred to by the refferees as the "Good-Sheppard" Rule".

GMG!!! :)

Yeah im in..... the date sounds great too.

Steve, Great Job in getting Fouts reserved for us to play in. Finally....

I played football at UNT back in 75/76. I think I'll just come and watch!! Unless you would let me play a couple downs of slow moving flag football!

I think there should be a 7-10 year stipulation on the Ringer rule.

And she played for the Men's team at North Texas... and she is 6 foot 10 and she isn't in game shape.... and she is Tall Green 06

Is Brad Kassell eligible to be exempt?

If the game is played in the AM, count me in, if it's played in the PM, I'm out. Gotta drive back home (6 hours) on Sunday.

BTW, what are the 123 other GMG.com Bowl regulations?
