I have a Major GMG Announcement...

I have Mexican Gas....

Jesse... Will you post up a synopsis of the 5:10 segment... I will be at the station till 11 tonight

I doubt I'll be listening by then...I'm out of work at 4 your time so my day pretty much ends once I find out whats on Mike's mind.

I do have dedicated area P1s who will be by the channel I'm sure and will get updates from them and post if no one else knocks it out before me.

I'm going to try to listen online at that time.

I'm putting money on either a return of Greggo...or the retirement of the Old Grey Wolf.

You didn't scare me away, I was just waiting for more Ticket gossip. Anyone?

They can't talk about Greggo because of legal issues. The Dallas Observer has covered all of this pretty well - both in the magazine and on the Unfair Blog. I'd catch up there and then you can pwn some ticket n00bs all over the place.

I thought it was a done deal that Greggo was gone? Didn't Mr. Witt write that in the second article on this situation?

I don't think Mike will retire yet. The Ticket is his baby and he wants to make sure continues beyond his tenure...if he were to retire immediatly after Greggo left in the matter he did it would be a huge blow to the Ticket. If Greggo is truly gone for good, I would look for Kevin Scott or maybe even Richie Whitt to take a full time spot on the Hardline...someone P1's know and like, as well as someone who knows what it means to be a Ticket personality...how to balance sport talk with funny. Phasing out is probably the wrong term, but essentially I think thats what will happen to Mike over the next 2-3 years. Corby and Danny will continue with their increased airtime...and so when Mike does hang it up it isnt a huge blow to the station...or atleast they lessen the blow as much as possible.

Even though he's totally out of it all of the time and doesn't really add anything, I would LOVE it if he came back just for the awkward factor. That's what I miss about Followill/Ortegal covering the Mavs. I love awkward tension.

Sorry, I am really engrossed in this Ticket drama. My NYE resolution was to obstain from gossiping about the other PTA moms, so this is all I have now.

Uh Oh...Uh Oh....Uh Oh....

Yeah, I think Mike is a cash cow for the station. I bet Kevin Scott is joining the show.

I've been reading those Unfair Park bits for months, but they don't really say what direction The Ticket is going in. I used to love listening to The Hardline but now it's just so anemic. I keep expecting them to just give up mid show.

Well, this major announcement wasn't as disappointing. If you missed it, they pretty much rehashed what they said before they went on break, except this was a much kinder, gentler Hardline.

The announcement that Mike Rhyner read verbatim said Greggo "resigned," then went on to say that the Hardline has won a bunch of awards and is located in Dallas, TX. Not really a high point in press releases.

But then they started talking about how Greggo was important to the history of the show, and how they wished they could have talked about it more while it was going on. They talked about their chemistry and said that they actually DO enjoy doing the show, and that they understood that this was a shocking change to the P1s and that they hope everyone will stay with them as the struggle to regain their footing. It was a total turnaround from the statement they made before dry dock which was just kind of beligerent and defensive. I was happy with it. I guess now I'll have to turn my attention to the Clemens/McNamee scandal.

We think an intern wrote the release himself. Or maybe Greggo during a bender.

I think K-Scott would be the best fit of anyone out there...as for Richie Whitt...that guy blows, I can say for certain that if he becomes a regular on the show that I will start to phase the hardline out of my life.

Was that referring to me or another Jesse?

Because for anyone other than my wife to know that I'm even awake at 5:10 is creepy since I've hardly ever been anything but asleep around 5am in my life.

So I really hope you were referring to another Jesse...

Hmmm...I know personally everyone else involved in this conversation and no one else is named Jesse, so one could only suppose he was talking to you.

Do you think you may have a stalker? Creepy.

Perhaps there are some clues in the message itself. "Mexican Gas" ; "Station" ; "11 tonight". I got it...your stalker wants to meet you at the Valero Gas Station at the corner of Ft. Worth Dr. and I-35.

Seems an odd place for a romantic tryst...though perhaps "Dumb and Dumber" would argue.

Maybe you have history there. Did you ever kill anyone at said gas station? Maybe your stalker saw you...and while you thought you had gotten away with it your stalker is the personification of your conscience that has been eating away for you at years. That 15 year old Filipino boy had a knife...it was either you or him; you've told yourself that for years, but deep down you saw the crippling fear in that small child's eyes...and once you wretched that switchblade from his fragile grasp there was no need to stab him, once...let alone the 27 times you did. And after all of it, did you ever consider the family of the boy before purchasing a gallon of gas (87 octane at that), drenching the tyke and setting him a blaze before burying the charred remains at the Darrell Dickey practice fields. The family would've appreciated closure.

My suggestion would be to just turn yourself in...a self-defense arguement is probably long gone...but I know UNT 92 Fan...and hes a real sadist. If he's found you out...the police may be the only one's who can save you.

I would say, judging from some of his previous posts, you might not be too far off there.
