There are numerous signs today that June Jones' coaching career at the University of Hawaii may be over.

UH Warrior Head Coach, June Jones is "en route" to Dallas, to interview with Southern Methodist University for the vacant head coaching position

There are now more signs that point to the possibility that Jones has coached his last game at the University of Hawaii.

Sources close to the situation, say that a "letter of resignation", written by Jones, and addressed to, among others, UH Ahletics Director Herman Frazier has been drafted.

However Frazier said this afternoon, that he has yet to receive such a letter. According to those sources, the letter includes a list of 19 reasons for Jones' departure, which deal mainly with his dissatisfaction with the current operation of the athletic department.

UH has reportedly made a second offer to Jones which, sources say, is comparable to the offer expected to be presented to Jones by SMU somewhere in the 1.7 to 2 million dollar range.

Hawaii boosters and other supporters of the program have told KHON2, that they have not given up hope on convincing Jones to stay, but that the next 24 hours are crucial.

----------------------------

If that is true about the letter, it is completely unprofessional.

A letter stating your resignation and the effective date is all that is needed. A 19-point slam of your employer is not necessary.

I wonder if he sat around trying to think of a 20th reason, so that he'd have a nice even number...it did he go into it shooting for a prime number?

I thought the exact same thing.

This will be a good hire for SMU.
