I came across this while looking for what North Texas gear was available on the web.

http://www.music.unt.edu/windstudies/march...ive_Members.htm

A couple of years ago, they didn't have this.

BTW, Could an administrator please change the title to GREEN BRIGADE.

There was an individual by the name of Debbie who would post about the Green Brigade and give info about this group. Does she still post on the GMG?

Since our football program has gone underground and prefers a shroud of secrecy I propose GMG.com turn their efforts some time in the future to sponsor and support a barbecue dinner for the Mean Green Brigade. 4 years ago several of us here pledged money to buy the GB some Mean GREEN flags for future performances and it was well recieved by the GB leadership. I'm currently looking at alternatives for my Mean Green Club donation. Maybe we could do a lunch for them after one of their practices next year.

Thoughts?

I think that is an awesome idea. They more appreciation they feel from the mean Green fanbase, the harder they will work to make sure our Green Day experience continues to be top notch!

Remember, everyone needs to feel the love, players, coaches, AD and team, Green Brigade, fanbase, opposing teams fans.

Tis the season to plan for an amazing 08!

I'm all over that!

It would be cool if they had an alumni section. My wife was in the Green Brigade from 95-97 and lost touch with almost everybody when she moved away.

aren't band members forced to be there.

Maybe you're thinking of the policy of the school of music (and I don't know if it's still in place or not), that music education majors were required to be in the band for at least one semester. I suppose that you could interpret that as someone being forced to go to games. I don't know what the current policy is. However, if you read the Q&A on the web-site, they take try outs from the general student population. I don't know what the % is of music majors and non-music majors in the Band.

I was a student from '99 - '03. It was required for MuEd majors to take 3 semesters of marching band. I vaguely recall something about being able to take a drill writing class as a substitute for one season.

The majority of the band "has" to be there in respects to their major. I don't know what percentage are not music majors. I had a fantastic time marching the Green Brigade. And from what I gather, Nick Williams has taken it through the roof.

We are blessed to have his leadership.

Nick's done a great job.

I have a suggestion.

Let me preface it by saying that this is NOT meant to bring up an old sore subject. I'm not suggesting this to make a joke or to criticize the Green Brigade. It's just the first thing that sprang to mind for me.

If we're going to raise money for the band through GMG... I think we should make it something that will serve the GMG community by ending one of the annual ass-whip threads.

Can we make it a fund to help sponsor a summer uniform of khaki shorts and kelly green polo shirts?

Sounds fine to me. I would assume that that is where the money would go anyway. They already have very sharp regular uniforms, they just need equally sharp "hot weather" uni's.

I refer you again to the Q&A on the web-site about uni's. The Band/school provides everything for their hot weather dress but the shorts. There must be a reason why the school leaves it to the student to provide their own khaki shorts. I don't know if it's cost, or if it is an issue of the hassle of providing shorts that fit correctly for some of the students.

I agree the Green Brigade deserves more support than we currently provide (although I'm sure some of you help them a lot!) I bet in short order we could get enough money/support together to help them with GREEN FLAGS TO BE USED DURING THE ENTIRE HALF-TIME PERFORMANCE. I'M JUST NOT A RAINBOW KIND-OF GUY!!!

GMG!
