Twas the night before Christmas in 2007 and Mendoza

came to say, "I won't be leaving cause I promise

to kick some "A" with a secret game,

that will no doubt be here to stay."

Mendoza gets his 2008 "D" ready to play each and every

week, and invites Fireman Rick over for the game plan

blessing, that surely no one can beat.

FFR goes over every detail, crossing every "t" and

dotting every "i" then gives his eagle claw up towards the sky.

FFR tells Mendoza that everything is cool and RM goes wild

saying "cock a doodle doo."

As we close out 2007, a late Xmas present

will be delivered and the crowd is restless

for this special one.

Riley is coming, the chosen one, of the new age Green Nation.

Can he bring new heights of a once proud AA

and D-1 sensation?

Riley flexes his muscle to say he's the man

and puts jersey #11 on to lead us

to the promised land.

TD goes wild, telling young Riley to chill,

for our offense scheme is not quite ready son

therefore you will get killed.

Give it a season or two young Riley and you will

be the man, you'll break every record

in the Green promised land.

RM and TD are rising to new heights for

Yep, pretty corny.....but I like it! Hope there wasn't sarcasm or a few jabbs at anyone that I missed. I got a kick out of it. You may be on to something. I like the idea of some sort of a ceremony before the game where we, the crowd, raise the claw and bless the game plan. Maybe it could be lead by the assistant coaches just after the coin toss. Or possible the players. Now that's novel, get the coaching staff to get the crowd started!!! I like it!!!! I know there will be the naysayers that will sound out, "the coaches have to focus on the game, the players are too busy..need to get their game face on" blah, blah, blah. I still like it!
