Well, I guess that makes SMU the Metroplex Champions in basketball.

SMU > TCU > UTA > UNT

That is why I love these Metroplex rivalry games; each game resulted in an upset with the winning team jumping up and down in celebration.

Not only should all these teams play each other every year, they should all play each other TWICE every year. The rivalry wouldn't only be big for the schools involved but would be great for college basketball in the D/FW region.

It could instantly add a big time atmosphere to the usually mundane nonconference games. Let visiting students in free with student ID, have pep bands from both schools there, include the 'away' games as part of season ticket packages........The games would be a great recruiting tool and would be a magnet for local media. The would also help generate a stronger following at each school.

The Tobacco Road rivalry was not created by those three schools not playing each other.

Or, we can continue to play virtually unknown schools and watch the Big 12 get all the attention in our (all four) home market.

Also, it would help attendance if these games were played earlier in the season, instead of Thanksgiving eve and holiday games after the students have gone home.
