DENTON, Texas (12/16/07) – The North Texas men’s basketball team has an opportunity to move to 5-0 at home for the first time since 1977-78 when Southern visits the Super Pit on Monday at 7 p.m.

The Mean Green (6-2) has lost only two games this season, to UT Arlington and No. 4/5 Texas on the road, which have a combined 18-0 record.

This will be the third meeting between North Texas and Southern after splitting a pair of games in 2003 and 2004. North Texas holds an 8-11 all-time record against current members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

What To Watch For

• Josh White has proven himself as one of the country’s top freshman in 2007-08. The Baton Rouge, La. native currently ranks seventh in the nation in freshman scoring, and fourth overall in the Sun Belt Conference with 18.6 points per game.

• Josh White, Collin Dennis and Tristan Thompson currently occupy the top three spots on the program’s single season 3-point field goal percentage list. While it is early in the year, White is hitting 58.3 percent, Dennis 47.4 percent and Thompson 45.5. NT is hitting 37.9 percent as a team.

• Quincy Williams swatted three shots against Hartford to give him 71 career blocks. The performance moves the senior past Shawnson Johnson (2003-04) and into fourth place in school history.

• After splitting a pair of matchups last week, North Texas just missed CollegeInsider.com’s Mid-Major Top 25 once again. The Mean Green remained with 29 votes in the “others receiving vote” section.
