I really don't ever see myself wanting to be on "that side of the stadium". But...I'm willing to hear about others' experiences. Were you all students, or at least in the student section at some point? Also, I've read on here that sometimes the pulse of the crowd over there is okay, but for the most part, and from my experience watching from across the way, it seems pretty dismal. Basically, how would you describe your experiences holding season tix?

IT'S GREAT!!!!! i was a student from 95-2000 and looked on the alumni side in disbelief at the lack of attendance. now, it's totally different! there are a ton of people over there and it's becoming more passionate. sure, there are plenty of quiet folks over there, but i'm not one of them. it's a great place to be....DO IT....BECOME ONE OF US!!!!! :)

Yeah, but, guys...I like to stand up and scream...

I stand and scream, Alumni side always rules its like at 4 to 1 ratio to the student side. Talk about passion the student side only wished it had that level of passion. If you did not have the band and the visitors over there it would be empty.

We didn't sit in section E this year but the previous years our tix have been in section E and I like to stand up on the actual seats and scream. Haven't had a problem so far.

The "alumni side" is not as bad as the students make it out to be, plus with all of the former students/new season ticket holders the attitude is changing over there. And as others stated, the shade and the band/dancers performing facing you is great.

This was my first year as a season ticket holder.

Its been more packed than the students side, however it only takes about 1/3 of the students to make more noise than the alumni side

That said I think it got better and FFR and those guys are always into it.

I find it hillarious and concerning that FFR has to tell the cheerleaders when would be a good time to do a cheer

Jesse, c'mon over we need more people like you on the alumni side

I'm not a student and haven't been in a long time. And when I attended my first games on the Alumni side this year, I felt that the mortuary atmosphere allegations were pretty accurate.

I plan on sitting on the student side again next season.

You are right. The "bump on the log" "wall flower" personna is certainly the norm on the Alumni side.

If we had a mass exodus of vocal extroverts to the student side, we (the vocal Alums) that remain would be

in a much more dismal situation.

Perhaps we could recruit some students to fill some of the empty seats on

the alumni side for a quarter or two and help energize the atmosphere.

everyone takes their time making the "change" to the other side. however after my first year on the alumni side i love it! You get good game angles without the sun in your face, can still hear the band in full force and yell with the cadences. I also love walking across the field at the end and standing in front of the band as they play "you will never walk alone." we sway from the field with the band alumni and watch the fireworks from the field - new seats, new traditions. still crazy!

And the alumni side will stay this way until some recent grads make the move and change the atmosphere.

oh the recent grads are there... Im an '03 (and the term 'recent' is all too quickly fading away) and we have several people in section D, we just get beaten down by the "SIT DOWN" people around us...

Standing and cheering at a game is GREAT...we need more of it. And, I do my share! But, remember...you are not the only person at the game, believe it or not. Sometimes it is nice to be aware of others around you who are also fans, but who do not care to stand the whole time. My mother told me to use common courtesy whenever possible...you do not leave your manners at the door just to attend a football game!

Good point. I love me some warm $4 can of beer.

You are crazy. I have tasted plenty of beer on that deck for years and years... never once have had a warm beer. If yours if getting warm, stop nursing it.

Which is why, despite having seats on the alumni side I never sit there. If I wanted to sit and be quiet, I would have bought opera tickets instead.

I usually bring friends and we sit in the endzone where I can stand and scream and yell and (rarely) get chastized for it. Maybe that is another reason I want the new stadium to have endzone seating.

In the 25 or so years I have had season tickets on the Alumni side, I have never heard anyone tell anyone to sit down. Now I don't pretend to have heard everythng that goes on on the west side, but I stand whenever I wish and for as long as I wish. I like having the band and the dancers face our side as well.

Sit wherevere you wish. But wherever you sit, buy season tickets. Make a committment to the program that shows up in the box score after the game.

I'm a season ticket holder and I ALWAYS sit on the Student's side. Sorry, but the... shall we say... view... is better on the student section. Plus I like being near the band and I can get isle seats on the Student side. :)

My wife and I sit Section D, Row 35 ......close to Section E ......(I think) and there is plenty of yelling...we rarely sit down.......come and join us.....Tell Mandy to put you in our little "Eagles Nest"......it's fun! I've been there for over 20 years....we give enough for Section E, but we just love where we sit....GO MEAN GREEN !

Sounds like you're sitting in my seats! That's about where we are...right across the aisle from E, maybe a couple of rows down from you. I try to stand up on 3rd downs and it always seems like I'm the only one standing. I will admit that the alumni side has loosened up a bit in the last couple of years. Give us something to stand up and yell about and I think it'll happen.
