One of their donors (on their board)......said that Orsini had his man, but the guy had to coach one more game at the school that he's at. Navy has one more game---Army this weekend.

So, there may be some validity to this......we'll see.

Paul Johnson would be crazy to go to smu... he is better off waiting for a better job. He's done pretty well for what he's got to work with at Navy, SMU is a coach's graveyard.

Not so fast... I learned this morning that SMU is already talking to Dennis Francione. (I would be shocked if he took that job, but if was offerred to him) As if that is not wild enough info for ya, Coach Fran is rumored to have his eye set on a former NT coach for his staff. That coach won 4 SBC titles back to back as a head coach. That's all I was told, but the info has always been good before.... it ought to be. Those who know me know who I get my info from over there.

I would be really surprised if coach Fran takes the HC job at SMU, but they sure have a lot of money to throw at the guy. As I was told this morning, "Hey, we got Forrest Gregg to coach here, and he coached in the Pro's...is Francione a bigger name than Gregg?"

I guess there's a point to be made there.... we'll see.

How much would that crank up the rivalry between SMU and UNT? Could you imagine playing SMU with Dickey on the SMU sideline? Or would that be a death sentence for renewing SMU-UNT games?
