Yes sir! Speed, speed, speed...that's the name of the game! Can't ever have too much of it! Pretty soon, we'll have speed at all 6 skill spots on offense and 9 spots on defense with the exception of the DT's in Scoggins and DeSoto...but those guys aren't slow.

And a 4.6 time isn't slow, but Brandon Akpunku from Cedar Hill plays faster than a 4.6...he's all over the field in a hurry and usually arrives in a bad mood. Same thing with Derick Tomlin...great football speed on the defensive side of the ball.

Those times are awful fast. 95% are self reported times. Just like Riley being a 4.4 and being 6 ft. tall. You always have to temper height, weight, speed, etc. until they show up on campus. Then you can walk into the weight room and see the true 40 yard times on the board.

Go on over to the village and see the record boards on the wall. The records for the 40 yard dash would surprise most because 4.4, 4.5 is blazing.

Agreed Dodge2007. Those times are blazing...handheld times by their high school coaches. Most people have NO concept of speed, and think 4.6 or 4.7 is slow. I was looking at the top prospects for the NFL draft yesterday, and there's only like 5 kids who run under a 4.5 and 3 of those are Corners. You're right, just head over to the weight room and look on the record boards for legitimate 40 time records.

These times have to be posted off of Scout or Rivals which take those times from their high school coaches or from a simple questionnaire. .
