WKU - 71 Alaska-Anchorage - 67 - Courtney Lee dropped 28 to lead the Toppers past the host Seawolves, the 16th ranked division II program. WKU trailed by as many as 7 in the first half before pulling away late. Western Kentucky will match-up with Michigan tonight in a re-match of the opening round NCAA tournament game from 1989 where the Toppers gave the eventual national champion Wolverines all they could handle. Me, being a huge Big Blue fan won't be pulling for the Belt tonight.

USA - 77 San Diego - 55 - Demetric Bennett ralied from his worst scoring performance of the season, scoring 28 for the second time in four games, and Dominic Tilford came off the bench to score a career high 19 to lead the Jags rout of the Toreros. A night after going 8-21 (38%) from the charity stripe, USA responded with much more acceptable 23-30 (78%), led by Bennett's 12-15. The Jags also shot 50% from the floor and out-rebounded the Toreros by 17. The Sun Belt is now 2-1 against the West Coast conference; both wins blowouts and the one loss by 3. USA will match-up with Chattanooga on Sunday.

MTSU - 91 Tenn. Wesy. - 48 - Demetrius Green finally showed up for the Raiders, scoring 20 and Middle Tennesse atleast temporarilly righted the ship with a 43 point dismantling of the Bulldogs. MTSU shot a scorching 57% from the field and center Theryn Hudson was a rebound short of a double-double with 11 points, 9 boards. MTSU will match up with Belmont on Monday.

Tonight -

WKU vs. Michigan in the Great Alaska Shootout fourth place game.

Troy vs. Georgia State

UNO vs. Tulane

UALR vs. La. Tech

ULM vs. Ole Miss

ASU vs. Eastern Illinois

- UNO needs to keep its momentum alive as its now been six days since they upset NCST and they face an inner-city rival who is 3-0 including a six point win over Auburn...UALR has looked good so far and should continue against La. Tech...ULM has had a difficult schedule thus far (Kansas, Michigan St.) but that doesn't excuse a loss to SFA. Ole Miss is 3-0 including a win over USA. ULM may not be able to get a W, but they need a strong performance to rebuild some confidence. Troy and ASU should be able to pull out wins tonight.
