Well, I have been watching the construction on the new Cowboys stadium here in Arlington, and a couple of observations from the CiCi's on Collins this afternoon:

  • The Cooper/Collins area is a cluster. It's amazing what $$ will do to get roadwork that should have been upgraded a decade ago redone.
  • There are going to be at least 2 new exits/entrances on/off of 30 when this is done. Still think that traffic will be hellacious in that area on gamedays.
  • The new stadium has a very strange shape. I halfway expect George Jetson to come flying out of it with Astro in tow.
  • The angle of the seating in the upper deck is VERY steep. Might be just an illusion, but those seats are damn near vertical. Looks like the Zone at Pyle Field.
  • There is a building facing Collins that says "Dallas Cowboys Stadium Preview". I think I'll pop in in a day or two and check it out, but boy does Jerry know how to market!

Interesting comment after I had the pleasure of sitting in the cricket-infested steep-sloped death trap that is the upper deck of DKR as well as the top of the Zone this season. One guess one which was more enjoyable.

Should have built the Godzilla-tron a little smaller and saved some of the money to not have one of the atmospheric trademarks of Fouts :).

That said, you are still my second favorite Longhorn ever.

No kidding. I was up there too this year.

Usher laughed at me when I told her where my seats were: "HAH!! That's a HIKE!!"

Airborne, mouth-seeking bugs didn't taste too bad. Birds actually flew below us.

Almost had a heart attack getting to the 'summit'.

I need to send you some Texas Douche photos! :P

A cricket landed in my drink, knocking it over against the back rail. We decided God hates soda.

We have an endless supply of Texas Douche material, but have noticed a Sooner and Aggie resurgence lately.
