Things happen..... Obviously the Rowlett players thought they could win and did not just give up based on people's oppinions.... Hope our players eventually get that attitude and quit reading who is supposed to win.. and go out there and win..

District 8-5A has to be the best district in the state. Arlington Bowie is a top 10 team, DeSoto spent time in the top 10, Cedar Hill are the defending state champs. All three won this weekend. Arlington Martin was 7-0 and got state votes before their star RB got hurt. Duncanville, Arlington and Lamar were all competitive and could have made the playoffs in other districts. Sam Houston was the only non-competitive school in the district.

No they don't. They have always rolled through in the past, until they reach Dodge and the boys at Southlake.

Look at the history, 3 yrs in a row, lose to SLC, not exactly fall apart. One year was State Semi-Final.

They need the same type of rule in High School football as they have in the college ranks - if you can't do better than .500, you don't really need to be in the playoffs.

Pretty soon, they will vote yet another team from each district to the playoffs so we can water them down even more.

I agree. Some districts only have 6 or 7 teams and now 4 make the playoffs, some with sub-.500 records. It's just $ to the schools and UIL.
