Today the guys who publish the NFPA firefighting manuals came out to our station today to shoot photos for a new addition of "Essentials of Firefighting". This manual is studied and used as a standard for firefighting techniques by fire acadamies across north america. The shots they took were of me and one other guy fully bunked out and breathing air with our SCBA's and they took several photos from behind us on ladders spraying water etc. I have a pretty good size Mean Green SOW sticker in Green and White on the back of my helmet. Later on they did some close ups of our hands showing the proper ways to connect hose sections and loading them up into the hose beds of the truck. During the hand shots the guy let me display my green "Go Mean Green" rubber arm band that SUMG gave me this past summer, even letting me rotate it over in order that the words were legible and made sure it stuck out from under my work gloves.

Considering how many people are going to see this I thought it was very cool.
