When it comes to getting locals to support a mid-major football program there's no such thing as a slam dunk. Three strong seasons isn't going to turn people into diehard fans overnight. You have to be a consistent winner for a long time and do creative things to get people to show up instead of watching schools they didn't attend on TV.
And you have to win despite your roster being picked clean every year because of NIL.
A select few made big money. We should be talking about throwing them out, but instead it’s always been the other way. Throwing out the basket with the bad apples makes no sense.
They may be leaving due to a coaching change. My point is that if players don't see the court before they pack their bags, then it doesn't matter what they were rated as a high school player. For whatever reason, Hodge chose not to play them. Maybe they were not ready. Probably only the coaches and players really know. I don't have an issue recruiting good high school players. Just make sure they are ready to contribute and are not going to spend a season on the bench. Otherwise we are just saving a year of eligibility for some other school.
