It sounds to me like the game's being dropped had more to do with UNT's record than anything else. I don't think we can blame ASU for any of that, at least not yet.

Point is, if the game stays on Saturday, it's on. Ultimately, Ch. 21 didn't want to interrupt its weekday programming, which is their option.

I just can't believe that they have changed a game time due to the Deer Season - didn't they know when Deer season was when they decided to televise it right before the season? You know you are in the sticks when they change the day of a game because of deer season.

Someone ought to let the Startlegram reporter know you don’t hunt deer with a shotgun. But, the idea we should go so far to help the folks in Arkansas is correct!

I had a law school professor do the same thing. We had read a case for Torts about a guy who got hit in the lip with some shotgun pellets during a hunting trip. So, we get to class, and the professor asks us, "Who wants to tell about this case where the guy was hit in the head at close range with a rifle while out hunting."

I raised my hand and said, "Ms. Law Professor (named withheld to protect the ignorant law professor), this case isn't about a guy being shot with a rifle. It's about a guy who was hit with some shot from a shotgun."

She then asked, "What's the difference?"

I answered, "If the guy had been hit in head at close range with a rifle, this case would be for the Decedents' Estates and Trusts class, not Torts."

Because I was at a law school in Oklahoma, the comments drew laughter. However, the professor still didn't get it. I finally told her the different between a rifle and a shotgun. Mind you, this was a grown woman with two advanced degrees.

Now, I don't personally own any firearms, but when academics start wanting to tinker with the 2nd Amendment...I've got a problem with it. I've never been convinced - and this particular professor cemented my feeling - that people who know nothing about firearms should tell people whether or not they can own firearms.

I say we make Channel 21 to go hunting with Dick Cheney.

Hey Smitty, did you get slapped with a warning from the Admins for this? Cause when I mentioned a political debate was going to be on TV, I got slapped with warning and was accused of being a "troll". I then was threatened to have all my posts screened.

Just wondering.

Pretty sure the Startlegram wasn't trying to make this a gun-control issue. Way to veer off the cliff.
