A big opportunity for UNT tomorrow

The North Texas men's basketball team will be in the spotlight again tomorrow, just a few months after it represented the program -- not to mention the university -- so well during the NCAA Tournament. This time around UNT will take on Oklahoma State at the Super Pit in a rare home game against a big-name nonconference opponent.

This is the type of opportunity every mid-major program dreams about. If UNT plays well, it could provide a big lift in terms of respect in the college hoops world. And respect always pays off when it comes to recruiting and fans.

This will be a tough matchup for UNT. OSU is big and athletic at all five spots. The key will be the way the Mean Green plays on the perimeter. Keith Wooden and Quincy Williams held their own against Memphis in the NCAA Tournament and have the ability to do the same against OSU.

If UNT's guards get hot, the Mean Green could hang with the Cowboys. Collin Dennis is my guess for UNT's player to watch. Dennis has experience from his days at South Florida playing teams like OSU. If Dennis plays well, the rest of UNT's young guards could fall in line and give the Mean Green hope in a game it could have a chance of winning.
