OK. I'm bored and passing time until our Wed game against OSU.......Western Kentucky apparently has its hands full with KY Wesleyan (who?) as they are only up by 1 at the half (46-45). LaMonroe won their game against Northern Michigan. South Alabama is playing Mississippi and is down 54-36 with 17 minutes left in the second half. Denver and Wyoming start up soon.

South Alabama is pulling back into the game with 12 minutes left it is 48-58 Mississippi. Western Kentucky is up 8 with 16 minutes left. Denver is killing Wyoming and is up 21-5 with 11 minutes left in the 1rst half.

South Alabama is within 9 points of Mississippi with 6 minutes left in the game. Given they were down nearly 20 points at half time, they have done a good job to pull back into the game.

Apparently the ESPN tickers are very behind... get this... South Alabama could pull this one out! S. Ala is up over Mississippi by 5 (78-73) with a minute and half left in the game!

South Alabama goes down 81-78. Damn, that would have been a nice OOC win for the Belt against the SEC..... Denver is up 35-24 over Wyoming at halftime. Western Kentucky securely ahead 83-65 with about 2 minutes left.

Also add Monday's strong SBC showings -

FAU - 62 Boston College - 68 - Its a loss, but considering the way FAU played against Rhode Island I thought they would get blown out in this game. Kudos to Rex Walters for being able to regroup a team thats been on the road for nealy a week. Also, kudos to the FAU backcourt for rebounding off their dismal performance against URI...on a night where star post Carlos Monroe was held to 2-10 from the field and 4 points, they got solid play from Carderro Nwoji, Paul Graham and Sanchez Hughley...guard improvement will be key for this team once conference play kicks off.

UA-Little Rock - 71 Loyola Marymount - 40 - An absolute dominating performance against a school from the West Coast Conference (Gonzaga). UALR held LM to 13 first half points, focrced 23 turnovers and held LM to 21% shooting. UALR got a balanced scoring day from Shane Edwards (14), John Fowler (12) and Deandre Eggins (12). UALR is now 2-0, their other win against D-II College of the Ozarks.

Tuesday -

Denver - 76 Wyoming - 65 - Huge win for Joe Scott, especially on the heels of a 30 point dismantaling. Wyoming was picked in the middle of the pack of the Mountain West, which should be a two bid conference. Denver was 12-21 from 3pt land, including 4-5 from center Adam Tanner who finished with a team high 21. UD also got double-figures from Tyler Bullock (13) and true freshman point guard Kyle Lewis (16), who currently leads the Pioneers in scoring with 13ppg.

South Alabama - 78 Ole Miss - 81 - Ole Miss opened with an 11-0 run and outscored USA 51-32 at the half. USA outscored Ole Miss by 16 in the second half, led by Demetric Bennetts 28 points. USA's depth has been hindered by the abscence of Daniel Hayles (Auburn transfer, 6'4" wing) who is only part time in school at USA and ineligible until classes end in December...only Dominic Tilford saw double figure minutes of the bench

Western Kentucky - 88 Kentucky Wesleyan - 67 - This game was 46-45 WKU at the half...a very poor showing from a team that prides itself on being the class of the SBC (just ask any WKU fan)...WKU got 75 of their 88 points from 3 players.

Big game tonight for UL-Monroe as they match up with Michigan State...a strong showing against a basketball powerhouse may easy the 29 point shalacking they took from Kansas.
