Maniacal Defense

I was excited at the Defense we played at the last game. If we can contest every shot like we did, we will be in most games. Last year we had some lapses on defense. If our defense maintains its intensity, it could be a special year.

One plus about having so many talented guards and small forwards is that we can run them in and out, and they know they have to do all the little fundamental things to stay in the game. If they don't go in, hustle and play D, there is someone sitting on the bench who is just as athletic and will get in there and do the job. Ask anyone who has played and might not have been the superstar on the team, they are chomping at the bit to get in the game and don't want to be taken out. Playing great D will keep you in the game.

Sort of minor but Kendrick is Kedrick.

I thought McCoy was particularly tenacious on defense Saturday. He was seemingly less than a foot of his man's face the whole night.
