CMJ and I made the trip over to Moody Coliseum last night to watch SMU lose in convincing fashion to the basketball powerhouse known as......

Wait for it................

ALABAMA STATE

HAHA... this year the ponies are just cursed. At least they lose basektball games during the regular periods. If those fans have to sit through one more over-time loss, I think they will ignite right there in place. Poor ponies??????

Good to see Cortland is catching some games before he goes back to L.A.!!! He's earned some R&R.

2007-2008 is off to a brutal start for SMU. Did you see their attendance this week for the Rice football game, which I believe was their homecoming?

13,902

A rough year so far.

If the basketball team follows the football team's lead, does their AD start to feel some heat? I have no idea of his situation, how solid or weak it might be. I can't stand SMU, but I never like to see people's jobs in trouble.

This is the second year for our basketball coach and we have seven new freshman on the team. We know we are building for the future. Granted we would like to win, but we can see the potential. (Surely the Mean Green can relate to that?)

We also have much faith in our (relatively) new AD, Steve Orsini, and trust him to make the right hire for our football program.

Attendance for the game was not great---no surprise----but the diehards were there and will continue to be there for the duration. The fair weather fans will jump on the bandwagon when they start to see results.
