First, re stadium seating: Oregon State is expanding one side of their stadium. I like their idea of majority sideline seats and few endzone ones....

As for a stadium exterior, it's hard to beat an eye-pleasing structure on a walkup during gameday. Oregon or Louisville lead the way in non-stadium looks....

Other exteriors vary beteeen the "concrete-support look" and upgraded to the hide-most-of-it look:

You can't really see the entrance, but I have always like the East Carolina stadium. Capacity: 43,000

I think ECU recently added that upper deck to one side and capacity if now around 48,000...

I also like ECU's baseball stadium design:

East Carolina's baseball stadium would fit perfectly on the North Texas campus. I'd like to see a modern interior with that style of exterior architecture for our new football stadium.

I'm not a big fan of end zone seating either but ECU uglied up their stadium with their dinky little end zone. I do like the size of their stadium as well as their sight lines.

Now, if we can start winning some games then I think a new stadium will happen sooner.

Hmmm? I really do like new stadium talk.

Folks, we are going to have to have one soon for all this that we want to work in congruence with DodgeBall to, uh, well.......... work. I know we all aspire the next level, but wouldn't losing any SBC school to CUSA & that school not being our own and such a possible scenario while we continue to turtle walk with Fouts Field; well, wouldn't that really make us feel way behind if all that materialized? Truly, think about how that scenario would make you feel. (So again........we really do need this new stadium ASAP).

Such a new stadium out at the Mean Green Village now is almost a prerequisite for our NCAA D1-A (or new conference) advancement quite frankly. We can dress up our over half-century old little pig again and again for however long, but if we look around most outposts in NCAA D1-A (and now even in some Sun Belt Conference quarters) we are finding that fresh paint and new bathrooms still ain't going to cut the mustard for a program that I'm certain has most of its constituency that aspires to be Top 25. Do we deserve less than that even if we haven't been in such high cotton since the mid 1970's?

I like the ECU stadium, too, and would trade Fouts Field even up with the ECU folks.:):P
