Late season injuries really, really hurt the team. They are having to play players out of their natural position.

We should have won both games in spite of the injuries. One common theme all year. We do not execute our set piece opportunities as well as we should, and we foul too much on the defensive end and we allow too many goals off of those resulting set pieces, particularly in second half. Denver got back in the game on a restart goal, and SMU tied it yesterday on one after playing dead all game. WKU won on a corner in OT, and MTSU won on a corner with a few inutes left. Unfortunately, for those particular plays, the injuries are not hurting us there, it is something else. Part of the credit goes to the other team, but it happens way too much. It did last year too. Maybe we are too tired from lack of subs, but the players on the field have all been here before and know what to do. It is just too bad they have such a great team that it has come down to this after such a great start. I know they are all very disappointed, and are looking forward to redefining the team at the conference tourney.

However, these injuries could very well have an impact on necessary depth for 3 games in 4 days to win the tourney!!! Some of the regulars are running on fumes with nagging injuries of their own, and will be interesting to see if the remaining bench can give them some rest during key strectches. LALA is a tough, physical game to open with.
