76 Points!?

Kansas just layed 76 on the Huskers. Can we please lay to rest this "they're not for real" talk from some? Lee, Kirk, anyone?

KU is very good, but at the same time Nebraska's defense is absolutly terrible.

After all the years of Nebraska embarrassing KU, there is a certain justice in Kansas scoring most points ever allowed by the Huskers.

"absolutly terrible" is an understatement. Nebraska was supposed to have a pretty good defense this year. The "Black Shirts" have been the "Black and Blue Shirts" they have been beat up so much. I think it started with the USC game. Nebraska defense has not looked good since then.

Let's see what they do when they actually play someone. They gave up 39 points to a horrible Nebraska team.

They put more points on Nebraska than the Huskers ever did on Kansas. And NU beat the Jayhawks like 36 years in a row.

That was a damn impressive win. Kansas had 76 wih plenty of time to go...they coulda named their score today. Kansas is for real. If they don't slip up - the Missouri/Kansas game will be monumental.

I work with a Kansas alumn. Funny, he said on Friday "it would be great if we laid 60+ on them like they did to us for so long."
I bet he's smiling right now.

Rightfully So. Since the NT offense couldn't score 76 points against a middle school team, and the defense would probably have been "pick 'em" this week against air and an underdog to ODU (open dat U), you have to be impressed when a long time downtrodden like KU takes a chance on a 5'9" QB that OU,UT,and T$M passed on and gets to the big time. Far from criticizing, I say Go Rock Chalk Jayhawks!!!

On a note on Sat. game I wonder how Navy will look upon our situation? I expect agitators and protest groups out en mass and the liberal protesters al la the ' 60's & '70's to dominate the landscape. I fear the image that what should have been a great patrotic event will now become a sideshow dominated by agitatators. All this could not come at a worse time, and it looks as if no one wants a swift resolution.

I don't live in the area anymore...but has the situation with Dom Green deteriorated to the point of demonstrations? I have a very hard time believing that...and before I see someone post something like "liberals will protest anything" let me preface by saying I'm quite liberal, been in my share of protests and we aren't simply a herd of sheep who will take any chance to show off our sign and chant making skills...it takes a significant issue, and to this point and from what I've heard...this doesn't seem to be an issue.

Ohhh...and Kansas is legit...should make for an entertaining Big 12 championship game with OU and if they lose it shouldn't taint what has been a great season for the Manginobears.

Actually play someone?

Yes, actually play someone - the combined records of the teams they have beaten is 35 - 51. The best team they have beaten so far is a 19 - 11 win over a very average Aggie squad. I don't really consider a team real in that they are ready for the NC game until they beat at LEAST 1 Top 25 team. In fact, I really don't think you should be ranked above #3 unless you have done so, so that goes for Ohio State this year.

Callahan can start planning his vacation and next career move. Huskers haven't been this embarrased ever. Seemed like not so long ago, Huskers were embracing new day and making progress. Wow, how the wheels have come off this year. Huskers are proud and classy folks. I have much empathy for them. Maybe Coach O will come out of retirement and perform more miracles. I heard him speak at an FCA luncheon many years ago and I would have followed him into a wall of fire right then and there. Mr. Osborne has IT!

Hell the Huskers were good just last year. I mean they weren't National Title contenders....but they did play in the Big XII title game, were Top 20 most of the year, and in the Cotton Bowl Things just disintegrated this season.
