Once again I'll use the phrase:

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling!"

Here's an interesting article from a couple months back:

Teens Surveyed

You can take it at face value, but I believe most kids know what's up and what's most important in life. Not that there are not problems, but they can be corrected or worked out as problems in the past have been.

Maybe I'm just too optimistic (sp?).

Now time for this slacker to get back to work.

Yes, Hip Hop turned people into drug dealing thugs just like Rock N' Roll turned people into reefer smoking sex fiends and Heavy Metal turned me and my friends into baby sacrificing satanists.

Why is it people have to search for scape goats?

I don't believe anyone wants to find a scapegoat. Nor have I seen anyone in this thread scapegoating hip hop music...only pointing out that the "thug" lifestyle, absent a counteracting positive force, makes for a deadly filler in that void left where good upbringing is lacking. Just like violent video games and movies don't CAUSE violence I think we all know that gangsta rap doesn't CAUSE violent street crime. One thing is does do, and I defy anyone to argue this point with me, is create a culture where the "thug" lifestyle is seen as a life path all its own outside of normal social mores and independent of the need for alternative financial and social structures.

Education is the key to all success... yes you will, rarely, once in a while find an MBA living as a homeless person... but you will NEVER find a high school dropout sitting in a board room.

Education is available for anybody who wants it. But sadly, the hip-hop culture eschews education as selling out and acting white, and many black youth buy into that crap. So, to be honest I have no sympathy for those who CHOOSE to live the life of a wanna-be gangsta and end up living an unfulfilling life of poverty.
